If you suffer from some form of acne, there are measures you can take
to help clear acne and to avoid having the condition worsen. Here are
a few:

People sometimes can't stop picking or squeezing or pinching their
acne blemishes, but doing so risks scar growth. Serious wounds and
infections can develop in acne spots where recurrent force is
frequently employed. Repeated picking and touching of blemishes must
be avoided.

Acne sufferers attempt to remove oily skin and skin eruptions by using
harsh detergent soap and vigorously washing their skin with it. But
this will not cause the acne problem to get better; actually it can
worsen it. Dermatologists advise that acne sufferers cleanse their
skin gently with a soft mild soap, at least twice a day.
Dermatologists can best advise on which soap is the best to apply. It
is also essential to rinse the skin completely after washing.

Any makeup, eye shadow, blush, etc. applied must be oil free. There
are products that are specifically intended for acne sufferers, or
dermatologists may make proper recommendations too. Creamy-type
lotions should be avoided.

When shaving, the blade must always be sharp, and the beard should be
softened with soap and water before shaving. Electric razors may help
in making the experience easier. Be very careful when shaving directly
over the acne blemish.

Besides sunburns, the sun can dangerously injure skin by promoting
aging and possibly producing skin cancer. Sunscreens may help, but
it's better to avoid the sun when suffering from acne.

Those are just a few tips one can take to help in the war against
acne.
