Where can I find detailed documentation on custom Modes / Behaviours?

Hello...

I have been tasked with updating some legacy code at our company for a custom expression builder which uses the Ace editor under the hood.

I don't really have any experience with this editor, but from what I can see, it looks like we have a custom class derived from TextMode that overrides the $behaviour and HighlightRules properties...

Looking at the Ace website, I was able to find a high-level overview of custom Syntax Highlighters (https://ace.c9.io/#nav=higlighter)

But I wasn't able to find anything regarding Behaviours (ie, 'ace/mode/behaviour')...

Can anyone here please provide a link to documentation on this feature explaining how it works & how to extend / override the default logic?
