shift+backspace

It would be nice if backspace worked when shift is pressed. E.g. if i
type a # instead of $ and want to correct that, i'd prefer to be able
to keep pressing the shift key when hitting backspace.

Yes! Just made this change (works for Ctrl-Backspace (delete word) too.

Oh yeah, that's very important. TextWrangler very annoyingly bucks
that trend and makes Shift+Backspace acts as a forward delete. VERY
ANNOYING.

But anyway, just ranting. :)

My text editor use cases are indeed simple :-) never contemplated
using backspace while holding shift :-P great work guys, very
detailed.
