Hey Dave,

After digging around I'm pretty certain I've come across the issue. For whatever reason it doesn't seem like the war compiled in the ace-dist-1.7-bin files was completely up to date. I've uploaded new versions of both the tar.gz and zip binary sources for 1.7. I'll take a look at 1.7.1 tomorrow to see if the issue is there as well and upload as needed.

Let me know if there are still any problems.

We were hoping to upgrade our ACE installation from version 1.6b2 but ran into an error that we can't seem to get around. This upgrade was on a test installation, similar but not identical to our production version.

The database script to update from 1.6b2 to 1.7 displayed several warnings about truncated indexes. I wouldn't think that would be much of a problem, but it was disconcerting to see.

The more serious problem was that, once the Tomcat package for either 1.7 or 1.7.1 was installed, we immediately got a "CheckPeriod property not found" error when trying to visit the ACE home page.

A little bit of research seems to show that CheckPeriod code was touched in revision 130, which is part of 1.7, but we don't have the resources to dig any further.

What could be causing this problem? I don't see that anyone else has run into the same issue.

Wonderful. Thanks so much. I'll try another test shortly and report back.
