Wipeout Omega Collection is a remaster of the previous two titles in the Wipeout series: Wipeout HD, its Fury expansion and Wipeout 2048. Wipeout HD itself contained content from Wipeout Pure and Wipeout Pulse. Players control anti-gravity ships which are owned racing corporations (effectively referred to as 'teams' in-game). Each ship has different characteristics, for example each ship has variations in handling, thrust, maximum speed and shield strength. Each ship is also equipped with an energy shield which absorbs damage sustained during a race; energy is lost whenever the player's ship collides or is hit by weapons fire. If the shield runs out, the player's ship will explode and is consequently eliminated from the race. However, the player may replenish energy by absorbing weapon pick-ups.

Studio Liverpool, the original developers of the Wipeout series, announced its closure by Sony Worldwide Studios. However, Sony stressed that the only part of the Liverpool campus no longer operational was Studio Liverpool. The campus will in fact continue to house Sony's External Development Studio Europe (XDev), among other departments.[6]

The game was announced by Sony Interactive Entertainment on 4 December 2016, during the annual PlayStation Experience expo for a Summer 2017 release.[1][9][10] On 30 March 2017, Sony announced that the game would be available on 6 June for North America and 7 June for Europe. [11][12]

On December 2017, Sony announced a new game update that would add support for the PlayStation VR. This announcement marked the first time a Wipeout game would feature virtual reality support.[15] The VR support would eventually be added on 28 March 2018 via Update 1.04, which also added support for the PS VR's 3D audio feature.[16][17]

Wipeout Omega Collection features 28 licensed soundtracks. If the PlayStation Music app is installed, players can add the "Best of WipEout" Spotify playlist to their personal playlists and play tracks from earlier Wipeout games. With the integration of Spotify into PlayStation Music, players can listen to any of their favourite Spotify playlists while playing, but only in countries where both PlayStation Music and Spotify are supported.[18][19][20]

On July 2017, Sony announced a music competition for all players, where they would remix "Shake It (Wipeout Omega Instrumental Edit)" by ADDIKTION. The winning remix would be added to the game, along with the prize of a PlayStation 4 Pro with a free physical copy of Wipeout Omega Collection for the winner.[21] On November 2017, Vieille Griffe was announced as the winner of the competition. As a result, his remix of Shake It was added to ADDIKTION's YouTube channel and the Wipeout Omega Soundtrack Spotify playlist, and later became available in the game via Update 1.04.[22][15]

Miguel Conception gave the game 9 out of 10 concluding that "While each of the three games exude style and stimulation in their own distinct ways, they collectively showcase the best elements of franchise's engrossing racing and silky smooth visuals. And even though it doesn't completely scratch the itch that only a completely new PS4 sequel can offer, this collection is easily the next best thing."[23] Timothy Nunes of PlayStation Universe gave it 8.5 and heavily praises the updated graphics, saying "It's brilliant to see WipEout back. It looked great back in the day, but thanks to the power of PS4 it now looks incredible, and captures with style the adrenaline-pumping action that we so fondly remember."[24] Martin Robinson of Eurogamer also comments "When WipEout clicks...there's nothing else like it, and given the premature demise of Studio Liverpool it's quite likely there'll never be anything like it again. There may well be other, better futuristic racers out there - but there are none that can boast this much style."[25]

UPDATE [3.14.2007]: It was eating at me, the lack of Wipeout XL for the Playstation, so I eBayed a copy and retook the collection picture. Now at least one version of every WipEout title, other than the Europe/Australasia-only Wipeout 3: Special Edition, is represented.

Improvements are underway at the North Mecklenburg Recycling Center! Please note this site is no longer selling mulch or compost due to space limitations. Also, we will soon be limiting commercial load sizes as construction moves forward. Please consider using one of our other centers during this construction work. For more details, please visit North Mecklenburg Recycling Center Construction Project.

Mecklenburg County does not collect curbside materials. The collection at your home is the responsibility of the municipality in which you live. For residents wishing to haul their own materials, Mecklenburg County has two-types of drop off centers.

Please note: This tool is for county residents outside of Charlotte city limits. Charlotte residents should check on the City's Trash and Recycling page instead. Not sure where you reside? Check your location with Polaris.

The best pieces of my collection are probably the press kits, promo versions, and the ultra limited Wipeout 2048 signed posters. I am currently not looking to sell unless you have some Bitcoin to spare.

Check out the 2 gameplay videos of me playing Wipeout HD back in 2009 recorded with my PSP camera and split into 2 videos because of old Youtube video length limit. I also have a gallery with pictures that I took in-game with the excellent photo mode.

WOW, i thought i am a wipeout fan, but you are really the boss of all fans! btw, in 2005 i saw a guy in the gym with a wipeout t-shirt, it was picture of curyl a guess (some years ago now). Have not asked him if he can sell it to me, (sweaty stuff)

amazing to see your collection. This game def has a special place in many hearts. Ever since the game came out and the following Wipeout jumpsuit worn by a member of NY rap crew Ill Al Skratch I have been intrigued.
-lyrics.ru/photos/artists/0/14192/ill-al-skratch-3.jpg Perhaps the jumpsuit (racesuit!) is something for your wishlist. I always wondered where it came from/ who made it.

Sounds like 2048 benefitted the most from this collection, which I'm definitely cool with. Outside of my being hyped for Redout, there aren't really any "imitators" on the horizon that I'm interested in, so I need this!

Will get it soon But I am really rubbish playing it God knows how some people complete the game or get the hard Trophies. I just can't do it. Amazing games tho in the past especially if you play your own Music tracks in the background Even tho the Music in WipEout is my sort of Music anyway.

@Carl-G I think it's one of those games that you need to practise practise practise then suddenly you are good. I had the same with Driveclub Bikes. I was "okay" then during a 3 hour session I got real good.

@get2sammyb I was a tad disappointed with the 7, understandably a lot of the tracks you have played before. Also Yakuza Zero was pegged back for the overly familiar setting and was given an 8 if I recall.

@themcnoisy strangely it was the lowest score on metacritic earlier, I understand the sentiment yet many others aren't marked down for exactly the same. This isn't a critiscm of the review but an interesting point non the less

Well i am pretty damned hyped for this,7/10 although it sounds like a fair score given the slight gripes, must be one the best ever to get such a score..@anyone who hasn't played Wipeout,i urge you give it a try..As for the vets you know you want it..Must get sales for a bona-fide sequel.. i am kinda bona-fide this thing has come into existence at all...

@get2sammyb I just bought this game - I may be doing something wrong but I find the handling atrocious. I hit the wall at nearly every turn, and the game brutally punishes you for it each time. It reminds me of Sonic the Hedgehog's deepest flaw - you're penalised for going too fast.

can't say i'm too big on racing games (mostly rpg's and fp's for me) cause they often feel linear and more like a side quest in a rog or something, i'll undoubtedly spend at least 4 hours on this as i was a huge F zero/ wipeout fan when those games came out but then go back to playing gta 5 because of the level of customization and the rewards of playing that game have over this one

I played a demo on the PS3, though, not sure if it was this or something similar. But, like a lot of these futuristic over-the-top high-speed racers, it didn't really FEEL that fast for some reason. Perhaps it would benefit from higher framerates or something, but they tend to feel so "arcade". - The games that gave me the most sense of speed were "Extreme G" and "Star Wars Podracer", but perhaps those also left more of an impression because I was way younger when I played those.

I remember first playing Wipeout on a demo disc from PlayStation Magazine way back in 1995. At the time, the game felt fast as hell, and blasting around a futuristic race track while shooting missiles at other players was a riot. Then Mario Kart 64 for the Nintendo 64 came out and we all stopped playing. Fast forward 20+ years and players can now re-enter this shiny, colourful, and ridiculously fast-paced world of rocket powered hovercraft racing with the WipEout Omega collection, which is a three-pack entry containing WipEout HD, WipEout Fury, and WipEout 2048, all rendered in glorious HD (or 4k for you Pro owners) at a blisteringly smooth 60fps.

Another notorious (in a good way) feature of the WipEout games were the kickass soundtracks. When one is blasting around a futuristic race track at supersonic speeds, one requires some wicked tunes to amp up the experience. Nothing gets the blood flowing quite like a booming techno track cranked in the background as you finally squeeze past the lead racer and find yourself in first place. On top of the already awesome tracks included with the game, you can use the Spotify PlayStation 4 app to customize your own experience to the tunes that get you personally amped. For me, the machine gun drumming from bands like Thy Art is Murder gets me feeling a bit more aggressive than a fun and bouncy House track.
