Hi Pete,
At first, let me express my gratitude and amazement to what you have done for blind DJs all around the world. I am using your software for more than 2 years now, and it's been a crazy ride! I couldn't ever imagine I would be able to DJ at all, and was so amazed when I received my first Pioneer controller with VDJ and your software as a christmas present. I could not believe that djing can be also accessible for blind users!
Right now, I am preparing for my first live DJ set, and have a few questions / requests, just as the title of this post says.
At first, I have noticed that something changed with effects. I have set my controller to use the fx buttons 2 and 3 as fx select buttons, so that I can scroll through effects, and activate one with the fx button 1. However, NVDA used to announce only the effect names before, and now it always announces also the deck and slot numbers when browsing through effects, which isn't very fortunate when trying to find a certain effect quickly. I'd like to ask, is there a way you or me can fix this? I would be gratefull if the fx announcing returned to what it was like before.
Another question is regarding key analisis. I have noticed that VDJ sometimes fails to analise key tags properly, which does not surprise me as it is a very complex process. However, I haven't found an effective way to adjust the analized key tags of the songs, so that I could correct them. Yes, VDJ does have a key tag editor, however it of course is not accessible, and using OCR to change key tags for over 400 songs is, as you can imagine, very impractical and time consuming. I'd like to ask, is there a way I can have a script, or a new custom keymap that would change the song key tags directly? I've tried to put something together with the help of AI, but nothing worked so far.
Thank you so much for your time, hope you will continue with what you are doing. I value it a great lot! :)
Best regards,
Martin
