Hey all. I went to the virtual dj site and tried to download a compression plugin they have, but there's a series of radio buttons that are not labeled. Not sure if the browser makes a difference, but i'm using google chrome. Also using  latest stable NVDA, LATEST MallMuzik and VDJ. if someone can assist me in navigating that site where I can download the plugin , then how to install it and configure it accessibly, I'd much appreciate that. i'm trying to give my music that punchy sound you hear on the radio. Thanks for any help.

Hi, could you send me the link to the website you're having trouble with?

For VDJ, you can use VST plugins from any source; just unpack them into the appropriate folder:
appdata/local/virtualdj/plugins64/soundeffect

Isn't VDJ transmitting music to the radio nicely enough?
Also, instead of a compressor, use:
Mallmuzik/settings/VDJoptions
zeroDB;
Add headroom to the main output, lowering its volume to prevent distortion when mixing multiple tracks.

Best regards, Zenek

all the current effects from VDJ are in a file in the repo folder, just download the file and put it in the VDJ data folder and run it, it is a self extracting zip archive file.

you can also use any VST plugin with VDJ. I use a VST compressor called RoughRider3 (this vst compressor is actually in the plugin pack in the repo. I just set the master effect to use it.

). Hope this helps

Pete

Hi, pete, and whoever wants to chime in on this. Where is the vdj data folder you speak of. Also, how do you set master to use a particular plugin? Sorry if i appear dense, but I'm really new at VDJ. Thanks for understanding, and for any help you can give. I do not have a VDJ folder in my %appdata\local folder with anything of significance. Most everything is in the vdj folder under a 'documents' folder. is this where I'd put the downloaded effects from the repo? Again, thanks for any help.

Yes, if you have virtualDJ in your documents folder, look for the plugins and plugins64 folders there.
Older versions of VDJ installed to the documents folder, while the newer version installs to the appdata folder, hence the differences.

Similarly, paste the pad page files into the documents/pads folder just like with VST effects from the repository. Use the keyboard shortcuts I mentioned in another thread to use the pad pages:
Shift+w to use the numeric row as pad keys
Ctrl+= change pad pages
When you hear the "MallMuzik Mic Sampler aux Effects" pad page:
Use pad1 (ctrl+1) to change the assigned output for the effect
Use pad2 (ctrl+2) to change the effect for the selected output
Use pad3 (ctrl+3) to enable/disable the effect
Use pad4-16 to change the effect parameters. You can find instructions on how to enable parameter reading on the MallMuzik keyboard shortcuts page.
Imagine using pads as additional keyboard shortcuts that can have multiple programmable pages and perform all the VDJ functions that an external controller, mouse, or keyboard performs.

Don't worry, everyone was once a beginner and started their adventure with MallMuzik + VDJ. You'll slowly learn everything. Don't be afraid to read especially the MallMuzik keyboard shortcuts page, and various threads in this group. Regards, Zenek
