Sampler options

Hi, I'm using the last version of VirtualDj 2025 with a Pioneer FLX10 and Mallmuzik tool. The Mallmuzik sampler editor in the menu is for create a different sampler bank and for add into this my favourites sampler or sound. I'm in touch with the support center of VDJ and  in the accessibility tool missing some features as the sampler editor. I would like to change with a button or scrpt, the type of sampler, as well as in the VDJ sampler editor, in Loop mode or Drop mode.

Actually is not possibile and if I add a new sampler this is only in drop mode and not in loop.

Can you add this feature or is a way for do this?

Hi, try using this pad page as a sampler.
Paste the file into the VirtualDJ/pads folder and confirm the swap.
Then start VDJ, select the pad page sampler and test.
Shift+pad1 and Shift+pad2 change sampler banks
Shift+pad3 change sampler slots
Shift+pad4 change sampler playback modes
Shift+pad5 turn on and off sampler looping PS only works for the last played slot
Shift+pad6 and Shift+pad7 shorten and lengthen the sampler loop
Shift+pad8 stops all samples
To restore the original pad page sampler, delete my file from the folder and restart Mallmuzik.

Hi, thanks for your help. I try your sampler pad page and it works fine. Is possibile to add a feature that the played sample running in sync with the master or selected deck? Thanks for your support.

I think it can be done somehow, but unfortunately I don't know how yet.
When I load the INSTRUMENTS, 12 sample bank
I hear that they are synchronized to the bit grid, but I don't know what the switch for this function is called.
I have corrected the sampler.xml file, now there is an on/off message when switching the socket loop, best regards

The sampler channel should theoretically be able to do everything that a regular playback deck can do.
But if you need to trigger some action with a button, you need to know the syntax related to the sampler.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find anywhere how this command should look like and I would have to blindly try different combinations, for example
Sampler_sync
Sampler_sync_onbeat
or anything else, it's hard to hit the command blindly, best regards

You can also try playing around with the setting
Mallmuzik/settings/VDJ Options/samplerDefaultLoopMode; sync
I don't know what it refers to, maybe only to recording new loops, and maybe it will help you.

Hi, thank you for your answer. I try it but works only with the recording samplers. I try to use Mallmuzik sampler editor but it works not fine. Is not possible to add probable scripts you suggest me. 

There are following problem and missing function in Mallmuzik sampler editor.

1. You can only add or remove samplers at new sampler bank

2. With the controller or script you can only change papages, launch mode of the sampler, and number of pads

3 I would like to change SYNC MODE ON/OFF and LOOP MODE ON/OFF. Actually you can change this option only in the VirtualDj software GUI

Can you ask for these changes at the MalMuzik envelopers, for future update? Thanks for the moment.

Hi.

If the samples are in mp3, WAV, OGG etc. these can't be synced.

if the sample is in 'vdjsample' format. then when in the MallMuzik sampler editor,

highlight the sample you want to sync, and press 'SHIFT + O'. this will open an sample edit window, where you can set the loop mode, the Key, and the sync mode type such as pitch, locked etc.

so shift + o will only work if the sample is in VDJSample format.

VDJ does record its samples in VDJSample. so you could record and then import them in to your own sample banks.

Just go to
Mallmuzik/sampler/sample bank editor
then press "O" and select the built-in sample bank, e.g. instruments

select the slot and press Shift+O

I get the message:
Opps Hex 70 contains 79
when I confirm it, I can set the loop mode, key, etc., but the slots for which I confirmed the above message stop working.

After pressing play on this slot, nothing happens in VDJ.

This error seems to be only with built-in sample banks, because when I used Shift+o for my bank, the message did not appear:
and everything works correctly even when I save the slot changes.
Only in my bank there had to be *.vdjsample files
To create files in the .vdjsample format, I should use recording to the sampler slot.
So I have to press Shift+s in vdj, and then just press record for one slot
from deck1 Ctrl+1
from deck2 alt+1
Overwritten files will appear in the sampler/recordings folder

Recording to the slot works when the track is loaded on the deck.

When it is playing on first press, start to record a new sample. On second press, stop to record.

If the deck is on loop, a loop sample will be immediately created after first press.

If the deck is playing, it will record what's playing until the stop.

If the deck is paused, it sets the 'entry point', and the second push will set the 'exit point' and use the deck's file between those two points.

Once we have our vdjsample samples in the documents/virtualDJ/sampler/recordings folder, just add them to your own existing or new sample bank in the sample bank editor.

Unfortunately there is no other audio file converter to .vdjsample format anywhere, so we have to record each file manually, first loading it onto the deck and then recording it onto the sampler slot. I will think about how to streamline this process so that all files from one folder are automatically recorded and saved in vdjsample format, best regards

Pete, you will surely laugh at my script when you read it ;)
Because it is very primitive, but it is the only one that worked for me.

I tried to make a script in the form of a macro, which is supposed to record all files to slot 1 in the recordings bank until the end of the folder.

Just find the folder with audio files and then press pad1 from the pad page below.

Sometimes some files are skipped, but I tested folders where all files were correctly saved as .vdjsample.
Only when I used a time delay in this script did the files start to be saved in their entirety, there must be an appropriate delay for the action to be performed.
The tracks change every 1s, so it is easy to calculate how long it will take to convert 120 files, and in the meantime it is best to silence the chatter.
If someone optimizes my script I will be very grateful :) best regards

I try your sampler padpage and it works fine. I’m a Pioneer consolle with 8 pads on left deck and 8 pads on right deck, actually your sampler can change the sampler slots from 1-8 to 9-16 etc, can you map your 3rd pad button as change to 16 in 16 pads? Can you add this action? Thanks for your support.

Hi, can you write more about what action you mean? because
pad3 changes slots from 1 to 32
so you can have a bank of 32 samples and use it on 8 pads of the controller.
What is the action of switching to 16 samples?
Just remember that when you load a sample bank in VDJ to deck2 that is made up of more than 8 samples, slots 9 to 32 will work.
Slots 1 to 8 only work on deck1
