Hi,

I just recently got a new pc and wanted to get my dj software on it, however, I ran into an issue. I did of course hit the problem where the midi services needed a restart, but that was easy to fix, but I also ran into another issue which I can't seem to find a fix for. IN particular, it's this odd issue where after i start the computer, running the midi2speech scripts the first time works, as expected, but it doesn't properly detect when I close virtual dj, causing it to ask me if I want to quit with virtual dj still running, even if I close virtual dj through task manager/ check that it is actually not running. When I eventually end up having to close the script exe file either by saying yes I want to quit in the warning message or by using task manager, any attempt to start it up again just has it reporting checking for updates, and never showing a window. the only fix i've found is to reboot my computer. Has anyone else had this happen, and is there any way to fix it?
Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi, what operating system is this problem occurring on?
On Windows, when closing MallMuzik, a message occasionally pops up saying that VDJ is running, but most of the time it's actually running.
I simply closed it normally without using the task manager, and everything worked fine.
Have you tried reinstalling MallMuzik?

Best regards, Zenek

HI,

Do you have a controller connected?
if yes, there are issues with VirtualDJ where it fails to close properly and requires a system restart, this sounds like your symptoms.
there are quite a few messages on the VirtualDJ forums about this.
if you have the latest version of VirtualDJ, released on the 31st March, there is a setting that completely disables the Midi 2 stack. this also fixes the loopMidi issues as well.

so.... open MallMuzik, and press 'CTRL + ALT + S'. you should get a dialog to enter a vdj setting, enter the following exactly  between the quotes "disableMidi2, if you are on the  latest VDJ, you will get another dialog with the value 'no' in it, change this to ''yes'. then run VDJ to apply it. you might need to close VDJ and MallMuzik to make sure it has been applied

this fix also resolves the problem with all other software that has b been having this windows update. such as serato, Reaper, Cubase etc.

hope this helps.

Pete
