Help in understanding FBReaderJ code

Hey 

While i was going through the code of FBReaderJ ,I couldn't understand what does ZLibrary stands for ? And is there any documentation to understand the code ? 

Does the package names suggest something ?

Can somebody please guide me in understanding the code as i am thinking to add the ''touch to speak'' feature in it but don't know where to start from.

I suggest posting this question to the developers of the project trunk: https://github.com/geometer/FBReaderJ.  Though at this point, there may be significant divergences between our fork and the trunk.
