What's new in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne Patch 1.26a:
Hex will no longer provide a speed boost to a Hero if cast at the end of Metamorphosis or Chemical Rage effects.
Reverted the 1.25b fix, "Hex will no longer extend the duration of Metamorphosis."
Fixed an issue where some Mac patches could lead to disconnections during Battle.net games.
If you only have Reign of Chaos installed, you will only need to download and run the Reign of Chaos Patch. If you have the Frozen Throne expansion pack installed as well, you will only need the Frozen Throne patch.
If your game is already patched to version 1.25b, you will only have to install the upgrade patch version 1.25b to 1.26a. You can verify what version your game is by starting it up and looking at the bottom right hand corner. If you recently installed/reinstalled the game or have not patched the game in some time, you will want to download and install the full 1.26a Universal Patch.

I got something interesting for you all. 8mb size limit is to small for any map. So i got size limit remover. Just Extract the Size Limit Remover, start it, locate game.dll file, it will change your game.dll and then you can host more than 8 mb but other cant join you because they will also need that file. But you can join other with that game.dll File it works on 1.26a . it is just like a patcher
I just copy my game.dll because my game.dll can create 8mb above map. Just Extract it in Warcraft 3 folder and replace the last one but do not forgot to backup your Original game.dll
The game.dll for Warcraft 3 is a file inside the installation folder that has been customized to allow to play bigger maps than 8mb. This is perfect if you want to play Dota 6.88, Dota 6.85 or other big Dota Maps on LAN with your friends. LAN means Local Area Network and is an offline connection between computers.
Which Warcraft 3 Patches are supported?
The game.dll file is working with the Warcraft 3 Patch versions 1.27b, 1.27a and 1.26a.
You can find all Patches in our Overview. The game.dll does not work with WC3 Patch 1.28 or 1.29.
Your WarCraft III: Frozen Throne must be version v1.26a. This particular version is needed, because, for years we have been adding bug fixes and new features and those changes depended on this, particular, patch. You can have 2 separate versions, one with a latest patch and one for iCCup.

I was able to successfully install the patch on a portable version of WCIII. So the program does not need to be "installed" nor do you have to edit the registry.
My WCIII folder is located in C:\Program Files\Warcraft III. I'm on Windows XP, and my previous version was 1.24, and I used the full version patch (War3TFT_126a_English.exe).
THE PATCHES DSNT WORK... THEY ARE NOT TESTED I GUESS..

I installed the patch, but when i try to connect to bored aussie it says Unable to validate game version. Please reconnect to Battle.net, or apply the current game patch manually.

use this warcraft registry patch installer if you get error. Run this program and browse for warcraft folder and select frozen throne.exe

i found why the patch doesnt work. Extremely easy to solve but you just need to think about it lol. You have to right-click the patch and run as administrator. The reason of the error is because the patch is changing protected files and the only way to let a program do that is to invoque the administrators rights. There you go, i hope i helped everyone

An Error has occurred preparing the patch thus prolem can commonly be corrected by reistalling the game and trying the update again if this error repeats then cotact Blizzard technical support

FIX for:
ERROR: unable to create file 'c:\program files (x86)\warcraft iii\BNUpdate.exe'
First things first before applying the patch, run the game atleast oance and change some options, like graphic or resolution. ( this step is necesary so the game puts itself in the registry )
After downloading the patch file, right click on it, select properties. Click on the Unblock button, click on Apply then on OK. Right click on the patch file then click on Run as administrator.
This works for me on windows 7 and windows 8.
Me and my friends want to play a custom map in atinad our warcraft version is 1.26a however we cant play the custom map because its 40mb, we have a forcelimitsize.mix file but the atinad keeps blocking the mix file, can you please fix it? or just put it on exception? We really want to play twrpg in atinad warcraft 1.26a
