Subject: Fw: RE: Urgent-- Support Needed
Everyone, I am asking you to support the legislation mentioned below. The more renewable energy we produce in the Agriculture Industry the less need or demand there will be to build solar fields and wind farms on public lands.
California needs additional energy resources and it is my opinion that Agriculture based renewable energy and roof-top solar are our best and most efficient options. In addition, these options do not effect public access! We simply cannot afford to lose anymore recreational opportunities in California.
Thank you for taking the time to consider supporting the efforts of State Senator Rubio.
Kind Regards,
Steve Koretoff
Roger

Senate Bill 1122 (Rubio) was amended yesterday to create a dedicated 250 MW bioenergy program in California . Under the program, California ’s investor owned utilities would be required to purchase power from agricultural and urban biogas and biomass projects, ensuring the establishment of a commercial bioenergy market here in California .
The measure will be heard next week (4/24) in Senate Energy, Utilities and Communications. Please get letters of support to the committee ASAP. We are working with V. John White and the Clean Coalition on this important measure and would greatly appreciate your support. A brief summary of the legislation and a draft letter are attached for your use. Please call us with any questions.
Thank you,
