Hi,
 I'm trying to run the default examples that come with AccelStepper, but I keep getting the error 'AccelStepper' does not name a type.
Any ideas?

thanks,
Patrick

Hi,

You probably do not have the library installed in the right place. You
probably got a "file not found" error message too?

Cheers.

Hi Mike,
 Here is a list of all the error messages:

ConstantSpeed:12: error: 'AccelStepper' does not name a type
ConstantSpeed.pde: In function 'void setup()':
ConstantSpeed:16: error: 'stepper' was not declared in this scope
ConstantSpeed.pde: In function 'void loop()':
ConstantSpeed:22: error: 'stepper' was not declared in this scope

I don't see a file not found indication.

Hi Patrick,
1) unzip your AccelStepper file to AccelStepper directory.
2) find your Arduino.exe file directory (let's say it is : c:\arduino)
3) copy and paste unzipped AccelStepper files into c:\arduino\libraries

then close all arduino IDE and start again. it should compile without errors.

Hi,
Thanks everyone.  It turns out that the file were in the correct location.  The problem occurred because of permission settings under windows 7.  If I run the IDE as administrator, everything works as expected.

Thanks again for everyone's input.
