I was hoping to get some quick feedback from the folks using the Requests module.

The way it works currently is that when a user claims a request (either because they start replying to the request, or the click on the "Claim" button), we automatically unclaim any other requests they have previously claimed. The purpose of this is to force folks to focus on one thing and ensure their colleagues don't end up sitting on their hands while someone else on the team claimed a bunch of stuff and then went out to lunch or finished work for the day.

I'm wondering whether this setup/rule is something that you appreciate/want? Does the forced surrender model work well for you and your teams, or is it something that you wish you could change?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Hi Geoff

Good question. The functionality you describe makes sense, but my thought is that if the item still has visibility to it then the ability to ‘steal’ the request would probably be useful, which would alleviate the multiple things that someone is(n’t) working on.

Hmm not too sure about that. Wouldn't it create confusion for coworkers? (or maybe I just interpreted it wrong) When would it be finally removed from the request list? When a follow-up has been made?

I'd at least make it visible that RequestX has bbeen claimed by PersonY.

We are a small business, with less than 10 employees, so this does not clear the requests for us. Not all of our requests are something that we convert, as they are monitoring notifications. This is something that causes a huge clog in our pipeline. Unless there is another way around this that I am unaware of. I think if there is a change on the horizon, then I would love to hear it.

Very Respectfully,

We're still configuring Accelo and having training, but our intention was to convert requests to sales/issues/tickets/projects promptly too, at which point I don't think think it'd make a difference to us either.

Kind regards,

Pete
