Pausing Projects

Hi All,

Does anyone have a good way of Pausing active projects?

I'm not sure if it's just us, but it seems to happen that projects we are working on can suddenly go on hold, while a technical detail is worked out, or a customer business decision is made.

When this happens we think we'd like to be able to pause the project and all scheduled activities and tasks, so that our developers can clear their minds and diaries and schedule other work. Then when the project is unblocked, we would like to unpause the project, adjust timeframes and reschedule.

Anyone else struggle with this scenario?

Hi Daniel,

We have spoken here at our digital marketing agency about this and would like to have this feature.

Someone we have to put a retainer and all of its projects work on pause and it would be great to be able to do that with a click of a button.

The team often ask me if the Pause status on milestone and tasks will pause the tasks and my understanding currently is that it's currently just a label.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the response, I think that you are right and that the pause status is just a label.

Apparently a Pause button is on the TODO list, but no word as to exact functionality or when we could expect it.

I've been testing this feature prototype for Accelo and can confirm that it works! You can pause tasks, milestones, and projects. 

I'm not sure when it will be released for everyone, but it is certainly on the way, and possibly available now.
