Example of a working nix derivation?

Hi,

I'm fairly new to Haskell and very new to nix. The idea of building with nix appeals to me because I spent a long time trying to get my external dependencies setup right to be able to get started with Accelerate. I've been trying to a simple project with nix to run the basic dot product accelerate example, but haven't been successful. Does anyone happen to have an example derivation that will work for this?
