I am using Accelerad Rt program with DIVA-rhino. But the visualization that has black and white spot (Attached difference between Accelerad and radiance). Also its is not recognizing  interior translucent ceiling panel and interior glazing (marked in red).

Hi Raunak,

What you're seeing is the effect of poor irradiance cache coverage because Accelerad requires the size of the irradiance cache to be specified in advance. There are several ways to fix this: You can expand the radius of cached points by using a larger -aa value or a smaller -ar value. You can also increase the number of cached values with the -ac parameter. Alternatively, you could set Accelerad's -ag parameter to about a quarter of your -ad setting to manage infill of the irradiance cache, but this is a shortcut for speed and is not as accurate.

Also a correction: The image you show is produced by Accelerad, not by AcceleradRT, which is the real time version of Accelerad and does not irradiance caching.

Thanks Nathaniel.

The solution worked in terms of getting rid of black spots but it is still not recognizing interior glazing and translucent ceiling.

Hi Raunak,

Check the command line output for error messages related to the missing ceiling material or polygon. Also, be aware of the list of supported materials in Accelerad.

For the interior glazing, I can clearly see the difference in brightness caused by the glazing, and also reflections in the glazing. Is there something incorrect about the way it is rendered?

Thanks Nathaniel. I was using a transdata material which is not yet implemented. I changed it to a trans material which brings the rendering close to radiance rendering.

Best,
Raunak
