Aravind and Mehul,

Congrats to both of you on a Final well played but we now need to pick a winner.  After internal deliberations the management committee would like to offer you the following options - 

1. Play just a Superover next weekend

2. Play a T20 at a mutually acceptable date in the next week or so

3. Play a full 3030 at a mutually acceptable date in the next week or so

​Please let us know your preference asap.  

If the teams don't agree to any of the above options, then management will make a decision.​

I hope the committee will consider all these above facts and decide the winner. And also in an attempt to complete the final this weekend, we have already tried to play on Saturday and again rescheduled it to Sunday. And now, with long weekend next week, Black Caps do not not have 50% of their team to play for any kind of rematch. I sincerely appreciate the effort that went into rescheduling this match by Sarti, Haris, Sohail,others and the umpires to let it happen.

Who's making new rules?   I forwarded it to the umpiring committee because others cannot email to the umpiring committee.

You are suggesting a super over after a week which is not only a new rule but is also ridiculous. But I heard you out.  You need to have the same patience and faith in others.

It's has to be a tie or replay the entire game. We never had ranking or head to head result as a choice for picking the winner.

That is a weak position for the league to take.  Why even offer a replay when there is no weight behind the league's words?

All I am seeing is weakness and pandering of teams in this league.  I spent 6.5 hours yesterday at the field umpiring to do a favor to the league only to be seriously abused by one lunatic and witness another lunatic abuse a player from the opposition with unspeakable words.

I send a complaint this morning about this very serious incident and I DON'T HEAR ANYTHING.  

Are the senior leaders of this league ASLEEP OR AWAKE?

Sohail,

I understand your point but a lot of times you force us to go easy on such characters.

You need to be strict about such people when Rizawi sahab and committee come up with strong verdicts and not force us to lower penalties.  Some of these guys should be thrown out of the league and should never be allowed to play. They pose a risk to other good people.

If you don't take a zero tolerance approach with these bad characters then good people will leave and bad characters will dominate.  I hope you don't let that happen, it will be unfortunate.

Committee has voted as a majority for a replay.  I am not going through another round of decision making here - I am really tired of this and all the games that APL, Big Bash and Boom Boom finalists have been playing with the scheduling and driving us nuts.  It is TIME TO BE FIRM.  No more twisting ourselves in knots trying to satisfy every crazy request from every team.

If someone else wants to initiate another round of decision making for a new decision for this issue then please feel free but I am tired of this.  Otherwise we are moving forward with the decision to replay tomorrow.

Also you want teams to be declared joint winners, but you are bringing up one of the problems with joint winners in terms of discount or waiver of fees for next year. While we can do two winner trophies and no runner up, how will fees for next year work?

Since you want joint winners, you have to answer that question buddy :-) others have been asking similar questions with no answers.

Also APL Final should use Superover if necessary.  We just failed to get that information to the Boom Boom umpires in time and teams packed up.  I was tied up in the GH1 match.

Thank you for your consideration but the league is not going to pick the date.

We are asking the two teams to agree to a date and give us a format you want to play to decide the winner.  There are only a couple of weekends left in October before real cold weather sets in so you guys agree to a date and let us know.

If the two teams can't agree then committee will impose a decision tomorrow.

I totally agree with your points.  I am only a messenger for this case and I am not making a voting decision.

The committee has already decided this matter and as a messenger I am letting you know that the decision is coming down tomorrow.   Whether you get it from me or someone else the decision will be same.

If it makes you more comfortable you can contact any other committee member to get the same decision.

But the focus of this discussion is not me - it's you and Aravind.   You guys need to give us a decision asap or the committee will be sending a decision tomorrow and if it makes you feel better I will have someone else send it to you.

Now we need answers from you guys.

Well it's the teams' problem to bring to the matches THIS year.  We cannot even agree to this week and we are going to agree to April? Impossible.

I'll send the league decision that everyone voted on that I have been working on and kept as back up. I'll add the T20 option to help them out, after that it is up to the teams.
