Our Mountain and Cross seasons are rapidly approaching and I know that a number or people are going to want to upgrade. To make the requests easier (and faster) to process please make sure that you understand the requirements and provide the proper information along with your request. As has been said in many older posts about upgrade requests; requests that are submitted stating that you're "qualified to upgrade because you train with the A's and can keep up" will be denied.
Please take some time to read the following information:
For more information regarding the rules look at Chapter 1 and 6 of the USAC Rule Book.
A race resume is not required for Mountain upgrades up to a Category B. The USAC system will automatically approve Mountain upgrades up to a Category B.
For all other upgrades please include a race resume that lists, at a minimum, the following items: Date, Race Name, Location, Category Entered, Field Size, Placing. Attached is a sample spreadsheet that can be used as well. Getting in the habit of using a spreadsheet like this is an excellent tool for tracking your race careers and make it much easier for submitting upgrade requests for both Open and Collegiate licenses.
All upgrade request come to me and I will my best to process them within 24 hours if they are submitted before Friday at 9am. I travel frequently on Fridays and can not guarantee that I will be able to process requests made after Thursday night. When an upgrade is approved your USACycling.com profile and online version of the license will reflect the new license category and you can show that at registration on the morning of the event. If the upgrade has not been approved you will be still required to race the Category that is shown on your license or on your USAC profile.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions!
I look forward to seeing everyone soon!
