Hello Friends,
Wishing you a Happy Spring from New York!
Here at The Center for Mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy we have had many requests for ongoing online CFT trainings over the last year. This has been exciting and gratifying to the vision of CFT. We are finally in a place to effectively provide this training online, and wanted to respond to our communities
broadly to let you know that this is happening. This is a one time announcement over professional discussion lists. Please forgive any cross-postings to your inbox.
For those who are interested we will begin an online, recurring 8 week consultation and supervision group in Compassion Focused Therapy at The Center for Mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy in two weeks on Monday the 11th of May, 2015. This is a small and focused training group, and there is limited space for involvement. The group will meet for 75 minutes, and will consist of three components each week:
1. Discussion of a case that one among us will present.
2. Discussion of specific didactic material or an assigned reading.
3. Engagement in a brief experiential exercise that is a part of the Compassionate Mind Training curriculum.
The proposed time for meeting is 2:30 - 3:45 on Mondays. If there are sufficient members for more than one such group, we will
establish other times, on Mondays. As mentioned above, space in such groups will be limited to afford an intensive and direct training experience. There are a number of people who are already enrolled in the first group.
We will conduct the meetings via Webex video conferencing, and you will need a webcam and microphone to take part.
The cost for the 8 week series is 350.00. The series will renew every 8 sessions for as long as their is commitment.
A significant portion of any profit generated from this group will be donated to compassion focused charities, including the Commit and ACT program in Sierra Leone and Nepalese Earthquake victim relief.
I know that this training can continue to build a community of cutting edge, thoroughly trained CFT psychotherapists in North America.
We will be adding access to a training page and bulletin board, and listing trained CFT therapist on our websites, that is privately accessed, in order to support this group.
It is just so exciting to be a part of a growing mode of psychotherapy as it is on the cusp of truly effecting compassionate change
in how we approach suffering.
I am very much looking forward to working with you.
Contact me directly if you are interested in taking part.
Sending Good Wishes,
Dennis

Please read the following so we can be in touch as soon as possible:
If you are contacting me about clinical, confidential or urgent concerns, please reach me directly by telephone at 845-664-1498. I find that email is not the most efficient way for us to be in touch, particularly during clinical hours, due to the volume of email that arrives. Being available to you is important to me. If you contact me via email and don’t hear back soon enough, please do call me at 845-664-1498, as I am available at that line most of the time, and will return your call within the day under typical circumstances. Thank you. Sending warm wishes to you and yours, Dennis
