Hello Friends,

While I know that not every person here is a member of the Association for Behavioral And Cognitive Therapies, I just wanted to share my whole hearted endorsement of Simon Rego for election to the position of ABCT Member At Large with this group. Yes, Simon is a friend of mine, and he is
also a friend to CFT and the science of compassion. He has built relationships with CFT trainers and learned about CFT, as well as hosting CFT trainings at
the institutions where he holds positions of authority and responsibility. Over the last 10 years of knowing Simon, I have been lucky enough to discuss
CBT, ACT and CFT ideas with him and share thoughts about the integration of cognitive and behavioral therapies together. Simon is not just an
expert or advocate, but a person who understands what it means to be a member of a community. I am routinely impressed when I meet an
early career psychologist who lets me know how much Simon has done to help them. Similarly, I am regularly moved to hear senior figures in our
field tell me how much they appreciate Simon’s care. He really understands that progress is best made when we put “we” before “I.” I know this discussion list
is not for the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, but I believe his election is very important for the furtherance of compassion in the broader community.

Sending Good Wishes,

Dennis
