Subject: ABA inquiry

Hello, my 15 year old son receives services through the YES Waiver (Center for Health Care Services) and they were recommending I contact you to find out if you might have any opportunities for ABA therapy. I also wondered if you might have any contacts that would be interested in providing In-Home Respite therapy through the YES Waiver.

My son is Alexander Knysz and he has a complex set of conditions/diagnoses including Autism, Obsessive Compulsive Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Bipolar Unspecified, Hypotonia, Apraxia, Tourette Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder and Moderate Sleep Apnea. He is verbal but can be difficult to understand, works well with visuals and social stories, at times exhibits maladaptive behaviors including aggression and has shown progress with the current level of ABA therapy he receives which is 1 hour per week but he needs more. We are also trying to find a program that would allow for collaborative sessions with speech and ABA together because he needs speech therapy but needs help with task refusal during speech therapy.

My name is Melinda Knysz and my home phone is (210) 468-3054 and my cell is (734) 812-4002. And my son’s YES Waiver Case Manager is Jessica Rosas and her phone number is (210) 906-3004 and her email address is jro...@chcsbc.org.

I had in the past taken part in the UTSA parent training program and the BCBA we worked with was Jeannie Aguilar and it was so helpful.

Thank you very much,

Melinda Knysz
