Hello everyone.  Thank you sooo much for volunteering at our Party / Networking Event tomorrow evening at Eleve in Walnut Creek.  I truly appreciate your willingness to help and I think it will be fun for all of us.

There really isn't that much that has to be done.  I envision basically 2 main roles:

1. Front Door Registration
2. General Event Support Staff

At the door, I think we should have 3 people, primarily just to welcome people, get their business card for the raffle and encourage the $5 donation for KQED.  I don't think we really need to check people off against the RSVP list - that can get complicated and bottleneck the entrance.  Also, attendees should be told where the restrooms are, reminded that it is a no-host party and invited to order dinner upstairs if they want a full meal (as opposed to the $5 appetizers offered downstairs).

For the General Event Staff, the requirements are less defined.  The important part will be to get everyone to quiet down when we do the raffle.  Also, we can be the 'point people' to answer questions throughout the evening.

I will bring name tag stickers for all the attendees.  They will all get a BLUE-sided sticker.  Us volunteers - the special people! - will get RED-sided stickers.  Also, the BLUE-sided stickers should be filled out with blue markers and the RED-sided stickers should be filled out with red markers.  As people come in, they should be told that all the RED people are volunteers and can help them with any questions.

If any of you have any suggestions, please let me know.  Again, I sincerely appreciate your help and am looking forward to the event.  I will arrive by 5:30 and suggest you all try to arrive by 5:45 if possible.  That way, we can all meet briefly before people start arriving.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Patrick.
