Dear Deca-Coaches,

We're picking teams, we're counting points, we're predicting output.
In all this, I found a few moments to get creative.
And my creations are my Christmas gifts to you, if you would like
them.

First of all, the earliest one I completed was a parody song, NOT to
be sung to the tune of "John Brown's Body", but instead to the tune of
Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire." It is, aptly enough, called
"We Didn't Start The Battle." It can be located here:

If for some reason, that link doesn't work, let me know, and I can send
you a DOC or HTM file of it. I would like to see if my own crew can
get together over the holidays to make a YouTube video of it.

My longer, and later, piece came about when I was wondering if DemiDec
was going to have a screenplay again this year to study by. Being a
rather impatient person, and haunted by strange yet sometimes humorous
thoughts, I started my own screenplay a few months ago. I completed it
a week or so ago. Basic premise: take a handful of Civil War Generals,
put them in close quarters in a Retirement Home a few years after the
war. What would they talk or fight about? Add the ghost of Lincoln,
and you can find out. It is for nine people (a deca-team!) and took my
class about 75 minutes or so to complete a quick reading. It is
located here:

Again, I have a DOC, or HTM or PDF version of it if you can't link up
to it somehow.

The fun never stops in Odessa, Texas.......

Merry Holiday Season, whatever the Faith................
