I'd ask that your kids take the test in the really near future, so we can
get an idea of where they are at this point in the early school year.
If you'd like, I could also include a "ringer" school of fake stats to goose
your kids along, no matter how good they're doing. If not, just the real
scores, ma'am.
Let me know if you're interested, and I'll get a side mailing list of
scrimmagers set up so I can distribute the test and score info. If this
works out, I'll be happy to organize further scrimmage events as the year
marches on.

Round Valley from AZ will give it a shot. We're in the middle of Lit. We've gone through some of the quizzes. If you go through with this, just send me the details.

P.S. we are not a super power, but we do tend to score around 40K at
regional's...but since we are in California that does not even make
State some years.

Thanks Dean, just send me the details of which L&L test we are to take and I will send scores as soon as we complete it. I have a group of about 18 but some are clearly not going to stay for much longer.

Last year we had Hillcrest, Rangel, Skyline and hopefully will add Lincoln
and BA to that mix this year. Woodrow are you out there? Frances G can you
hear me?
I'm still waiting for permission to put this on the calendar, but please
pencil it in.

Karen – GREAT !! I am so glad I checked my e-mail before leaving today. I am off-campus and therefore, off-line, Thur. as well as Friday. (Kinda like being off-leash a little!! J ) I will look for you on Friday and we can discuss it. I will probably go to the Phx. Region meeting, although that is NOT my Region, it is where most of the scrimmages that we can participate in are held. See you about Tucson later. J Sharon Komar. S.C.A.

We would be game for this, except I'm not covering LL until November. We just did history (SQ) for the first 4 weeks, and we started Music this week. We'll do that for 3 weeks, then Art for 3 weeks, then Science for 3, then LL for a couple (they'll be reading the novel during Fall break in October, right before the Science). We have our district competition on November 16th and 17th, and for the first time in my 18 years of coaching, we're the defending district champion--so we'll have a target on the back of our heads. North High is pissed because they were the 5-time district champion as well as 3-time regional champion, so it will be a real North-South battle!!Todd DeckerSouth Mountain High SchoolPhoenix, AZ

1. I upload the test to a secret place on my website. Should be ready by
Monday.
2. I send the link to the test to this list.
3. Those interested in getting the key and sharing scores should contact me
at my school email address: dean.webb at risd dot org.
4. When you send me your scores to the above email address, I'll send you
all other scores and the day I received them, in case you're concerned about
people having more days to prepare or something like that. I'll make a
distribution list so I can send updates of the scores as they arrive.
The test will not have critical reading on it. It will have 25 RBOC/Stephen
Crane questions and 25 short selection questions, in keeping with the equal
balance both recieve on the USAD test.
If you're not ready for L&L just yet, no problem. After your kids have had a
week to cram on the test, feel free to hit them with it and their scores
should be about on par with the others on the test. I think. We'll see. If
this works out, as I've said, I'll try and set up some more online
scrimmages.

DOH!
SQ
No other school came close to us. Literally. :-) Nearest school had to be at
least five miles away.
We drove by Hillcrest on the way back, just in case, then did some SuperQuiz
testing in my room. No big loss for us. We had fun, ate donuts, and got to
know each other better.
I don't know if we can make it next week - we'll see on Wednesday if anyone
can - but if we do, we'll let you know.
