Gilbert--I had a conversation yesterday with Elliott McFadden, who works with Community Foundations, and Glenn Gadbois of Movability Austin regarding the possibility of a local non-profit operating bike stations in Austin.

Community Foundations is constructing a new affordable housing apartment being built at 11th and Trinity that could be designed to accommodate a bike station with storage, lockers and showers and possibly offices and/or a small bike shop that could be a revenue opportunity for its operator. I'd like to give the board a brief overview of the project and see if there is interest in forming a committee to explore the opportunity of ACA operating this station, and possibly several others that the city may be interested in developing in several areas around town.
