Friday Knights and Instructor Meetings!

Hello Everyone!

 

First off, I'd like to thank everyone that filled out and sent in your instructor feedback forms. They were all very helpful in shinning light on areas of improvement as well as offering creative solutions. Again, thank you for your work.

 

The results are in for everyone's night availability for instructor meetings and lo and behold... Tuesday nights are still the most available night for everyone. In light of this, we will be having another instructor meeting 6:00pm to 8:00pm next Tuesday November 2nd, Election Day. Come prepared to show off your lessons so that we can continue to sharpen one another as teachers. Oh and come hungry because we'll be providing sandwiches on us.

In other news, Friday Knight Tournaments are starting immediately, and to make them as grand as possible, we need you to do your part of pumping up the kids for the tournaments. We will only be offering 5 to 6 tournaments before the Winter break so lets try and make these count. Remember to caution your students that some of the greatest Academic Chess players from all over LA come to compete and that sportsmanship is very important. This session we will be awarding prizes to our lead instructors that bring the most of their students, so try your best to build up the tournaments. Come to the office to pick up flyers for your schools, or simply print from home the attached FKT flyer above.

 

Also this year we need much more of a variety of tournament directors trained and working so that we can potentially run two tournaments simultaneously in different locations. Some have already expressed an interest in being involved in these FKT's, if you are among them, please let me know and I'll do my part to try and get you more work in that regards.
