Hey guys,
On the heels of creating great momentum, we are now experiencing a breakdown. As some of you may know, the flight I was to take has been cancelled. We have 4 hours to do something (including me asking this morning if the Australian Special Forces could somehow fly me to DC -- my running date said he liked the dedication but that wouldn't be a viable option. I'm working on a security clearance!! :) ). I need to leave Sydney by Noon to get the the east coast by tomorrow morning.
Before any action though -- let's review how this is actually quite a perfect situation. This is predictable for us. Getting from one side of the equator to the other takes planning. Two weeks of planning and flight the day before actually left us no room to create a win/win should something like this happen. We are getting comfortable with leading by luck -- as opposed to being effective leaders. Had this breakdown not occurred, we would continue on per our usual.
The intention of this email is not to make us wrong -- we actually did great work. What we need to do is start doing great work SOONER.
I will be sending my participants and email to discuss and will communicate with you via email the highlights of those conversations. Whatever the outcome is for the weekend, we can use this breakdown as an opportunity for ownership and transformation -- our participants are inspired when we come from that place and it takes a higher form of leadership to conduct ourselves with powerful humility.
What else do you see? What are you inspired to produce?
xoxo
Caitlin
