Hello Abundance Edinburgh

I came across your website whilst researching Edinburgh based organisations working to reduce food waste. I am a Postgraduate Gastronomy student at Queen Margaret University, and at the start of my research project into the motivations and challenges of  organisations handling food waste (encompassing rejected, surplus and inedible waste) in Edinburgh.   

I am currently contacting local organisations to schedule face-to-face interviews (of aprox 30-45 mins)  and I would very much like to include the views of Abundance Edinburgh in my research. I plan to interview and write up a study on the 'hidden' branch of the food system formed by a diverse spectrum of groups including gleaners, growers, a pop up cafe, as well as companies and bodies involved in composting, solutions and policy.

I have attached a little more information and a consent form. There is no obligation and no need to sign anything just yet. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this research in advance my contact details are below, and attached along with those of an independent third party. If you are happy to take part in this research I am scheduling interviews for next 2 - 3 weeks, and would love to put a convenient date in the diary to meet with you.

Hi Valla,

I actually know little about abundance, but that could be a good time for me to learn more about it so if I am free when you guys are meeting up (generally free on monday and wednesday evenings after 6pm) then I'm happy to join in.

Otherwise, I met Kim on sunday who said that abundance really needed more volunteers. I know you've had a meeting fairly recently about all this but i think it would be good to have another meeting organised in the next few weeks to see what's needed and how much I might be able to contribute.

Another friend of mine is also interested to contribute and we could potentially try to find more people interested and then all meet up to see where things are at and how we could take them forward this coming september.

Let me know what your thoughts are,
