Hi all,

We've been trying to work out the best way to plan pickings and other events for Abundance, and thought a closed Facebook group might be a good way of organising things. If you'd like to be added, please reply to this email with a link to your profile on Facebook!

Best Wishes,
Jess

I'm not on Facebook and I don't want to be. Does that count me out?

Kim

I think that's a fair point, not everyone wants to use Facebook but majority people online use email.

The idea was that the facebook group was for people to talk about
organizing harvests, not to be the only way of communicating. It's
unclear who is in the googlegroup, and we didn't want to be sharing
tree owners addresses etc. openly.
I find facebook has many functions that emails don't that make it
better for organising. I find having every discussion in one place
really useful for when I'm planning things, as well as knowing who/how
many people have seen my questions. You might be able to do all these
things in google groups - does know how to use googlegroups?
It is a fair point though, this wasn't intended to exclude anybody
from getting involved. We'll still advertise harvests through email,
and can do some organisational stuff via email if people (please opt
in) would like it?
As an aside, Jess and I would like to have another meeting soon to
discuss a few things. I'll email round a doodle poll and an agenda
later on. Meeting at the end of foodsharing meetings hasn't really
been working. It's likely to be at the shrub again, unless anyone
would prefer someplace else.
Hopefully see you all at the weekend
Nic

Hi there,

As Kim I'm not on facebook but would like to be kept in the organising loop if possible.

I thought that there were two google groups and that one was for organising while the other for announcing harvests and so on. Would that not be just simpler to stick to this, just making sure everyone is in the right groups?

I'd be happy to attend a meeting to discuss this as well as other stuff

Clement
