Hi @photosbyKISHEN I'm not having any trouble with the Nik filters. What do you mean exactly by it will not launch or start? Are you seeing the collection under Filter menu with no images open? Is the Google folder in the right directory on your C-drive? Look in: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2021\Plug-ins\Google. If all that is correct, what type of image are you trying to apply the filters to? Did you check the Image Mode? Nik won't work with CMYK images. Let us know!
Excellent, this worked. Thanks everyone for their solution. I did buy a new desktop and re-installed from scratch, yet this software failed to launch. It installed perfectly, but just failed. I did exactly what @RosaPerry mentioned and it worked like a charm.
I have the Nik Collection for about 10 years! Do you mean you bought a new computer? Or updated it (by installing updates)? I the same problem with I UPGRADED (bought a new) my computer. I had to find the Nik Collection under one of the Program Files folders (there are 2, I believe). When I found the Nik folder, I right-clicked on it and selected copy (I found mine in the Adobe Photoshop 2021 folder), and then I went to the Adobe Photoshop 2022 folder, clicked on the folder to open it, and then pasted it it in and the Nik folder was now copied into the new Photoshop 2022 version. When I opened Photoshop, I found the Nik Collection located under FILTERS tab across the top. I clicked on FILTERS and the Nik software showed up at the very bottom. I don't know if that helps, but hope so. Thank you.
Dear Diane, in past your procedure worked but not now with Photoshop 2023. Nik Collection is installed (or copied the folder into Photoshop 2023 related program files folder), it is possible to find it in the Filter when I openned Photoshop, it is possible to work with Nik Collection but my work is not saved. When I close the window and return to Photoshop the photo is not edited and it is the same as before using Nik Collection.
I just installed photoshop 2023 and put NIK collection in the plug in folder after copying from my previous version. All this is fine except when you try to use NIK filters, you get a message from DxO asking you to take a 15 day trial or buy it! Anyone have experienced that?
I have the old "original Nik" collection (maybe 10 years old) but updated over the years. Can't determine if you upgraded your actual computer or if you mean you "installed the latest updates." In any event, if have a new computer then you'll have to add the Nik folder to the Photoshop 2022 Foder. If it's an existing computer, you will need to check if the Nik folder is in the Photoshop 2022 folder, then you should be good to go. Either way (new or existing computer), you need to make sure the Nik is associated with the Photoshop 2022 folder. You will see "Nik" at bottom of the "Filter" dropdown as "Jain" wrote below. Good luck!
I recently spent $79 to upgrade to Nik 5, then today upgraded to 5.0.1. I watched it install but it doesn't open when I open PS 22. I tried to uninstall it to reinstall but all I get is a message "this version is already installed on your computer" in other words, it won't uninstall. I've restarted twice, still doesn't work.
I contacted DxO and they sent me link to the 5.0.2 version, which I installed. That version did not appear in my PS either but the good news is at least I was able to uninstall this version so I could reinstall v. 5.0.0, and now I'm back to normal but have to live with the annoying upgrade message every timeI open Nik. I told DxO I think they have some work to do on versions beyond 5.0.0. Okay, three days later I can go back to processing those 4 images
I thought I would provide an update on this issue. I contacted the Google Nik support group today and they were super helpful. First they sent me the link to download the latest version of Nik Collection which was released two weeks ago. I was having problems downloading the latest drivers to my AMD Radeon HD 7900 series card and the support guys found the the driver update and sent me a link. After updating the drivers I still experienced the crashing issue. Then he walked me through to co
Run the nik installation programme, it will not detect Photoshop CC so you have to add it to the progs nik software will install in. Press the +button and add the path to the plug in folder in the Photoshop programme directory.
Thought I'd pass on, but I got NIK to work on Photoshop CC by copying the folder Google from the Photoshop CS6 plugin folder and pasting it into the Photoshop CC plugin folder on a Windows machine at least.
Got it!!! I did not realize that it was necessary to copy the Google plug-ing files from both the 32 bit and the 64 bit version of CS6 to both the 32 and 64 bit version of CC. I had been trying to get the plug ins to work but had just been copy the file from 64 bit version to 64 bit version. Works great now!!! I am a happy camper. Thanks to all who responded.
I use an up-to-date iMac and I had similar problems. However, I found the trick that appears to work. Google's instructions are incomplete - at least for Macs. You need to direct the installation to go one extra step: Photoshop CC>Plugins>Nik Software. I had prior installed Nik Software for one of the pre-Google applications and had thereby automatically created the Nik Software folder in Plugins. I found you may need to manually create such a folder prior to installation and then be sure to direct the installation to go all the way to that folder within Plugins - and not just to Plugins.
I contacted Nik support and they sent me a link to download the Nik collection and this time it worked. I don't understand it, because the file I downloaded had the same name as the one I had been using to
I have been successfully using Nik software from within PS CC for several months. However about a month ago, the Nik stuff disappeared from my Filter menu. After much frustration and a Nik reinstall, it came back. I have been using it fine for the past month. I have just gone into PS now and it has disappeared again. Does anyone else have this issue? I shouldn't have to keep reinstalling my Nik software every few weeks because PS keeps forgetting about it!!! Help!!!
I recently purchased Photoshop CC 64 bit and installed it per described above into the plug-ins folder. When I launched PS CC, the application opened up and then a message came up saying "there is a problem with PS CC" and tried to search for a solution. After a few seconds PS CC shuts down. Happens every time. I then went into the plug-in folder and deleted the Google Nik folder. Then I can open up PS CC with no problem. I tried to install the Nik collection into the "Panels" folder and the same thing happened. Also tried to copy the Google folder from my old CS5.1 into the PS CC Plug-ins/Panels folders and the same thing happened.

The we did a fresh install of the Nik Collection and everything is working perfectly both on my Photoshop CS5.1 and Photoshop CC.
Don't know if anybody still having this problem. I've just tried to install the Nik Collection on a Mac. This first time I tried it the installer didn't recognise Photoshop CC as a target and wouldn't allow me to manually add it. However, following advice from another post, I downloaded the suite again and this this time it worked - don't ask me why!
I finally upgraded my mac so I can run PS 2023 - in doing so, I purchased the most recent NIK plug-ins (they've been part of my workflow since they were free with google). with the new computer, new compatible PS software, I figured why not, and purchased the newest NIK plugins... and I'm glad I did. The plugins connected right to photoshop automatically and are under the "filters" menu. It's a little different, but many of the same tools and presets and new ones as well. My images have nev
I wonder where it is on Mac. I tried getting that free and original Nik Collection under Application/Photoshop/Plugin but it doesn't work on my new computer. My order computer has that and it doesn't work...
I have got the original Google Nik Collection 1.2.11. Which I purchased from them for 120.00 in 2014 and then in 2017, Google sold the Nik Collection to collection to DxO Labs.
So, my Google Nik Collection is from Google and not from DxO Labs.
When you first start the installation of the Nik collection, it will start and open up only Adobe Bridge for you to be able to add the Plug-ins.
From there: click on the + mark sign and choose the location main folder.
Which the location is in the C: Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop\Plug-ins folder.
Select the Plug-ins folder and then Click OK and then it will install and create a folder in Photoshop\Plug-ins folder.

My images have never looked better. I'd recommend the newest version. The only issue I've seen is the HD plug in (still looks like version 2 while the rest are 6). It doesn't work right... otherwise, its awesome.
