Hi!
Can you add an option or a view that allows the user to hide parents task and, at the same time, to see subtasks?

To be more clear, here is how I work:

I plan my tasks on Tree View

TREE VIEW
[TASK]
[WORK]
Project XY (Date: Today)
Plan
Make some researches
                                                        Internet
                                                        Ask friends
        Brainstorming
Execute
Contact client
Delegate
Ecc Ecc
Talk to the boss (Date: Monday)
Explain issues
[FAMILY]
Family Trip (Date: Today)
Set a budget
ecc ecc
Decide the location
ecc ecc
Contact travel agency
Groceries (Friday)
Pasta
Apples
[FRIENDS]

When It's time to execute I filter my tasks:

FILTERED VIEW (BY DATE: TODAY)
Project XY (Date: Today)
Plan
Make some researches
Brainstorming
Execute
Contact client
Delegate
Ecc Ecc
Family Trip (DateToday)
Set a budget
ecc ecc
Decide the location
ecc ecc
Contact travel agency

The problem is that TDL doesnt have an option to hide parents task and at the same time show subtasks, and therefore the filtered view becomes like this

FILTERED VIEW (BY DATE: TODAY)

Project XY (Date: Today)

Family Trib ( Date: Today)

And I have to go back and forth from List View to Tree View just to see the subtasks

Thank you, and thank for TDL, I use it on a daily basis to organize everything, great software

If you have a tree and hide all the parents don't you just end up with a list?

So what's wrong with the List View which allows the hiding of parents via the Filter Bar?

"If you have a tree and hide all the parents don't you just end up with a list?"

When I say "hiding the parents" I don't mean ALL the parents, but the parents that do not fit in the criteria of the filter.

To say it in another way, what I'm asking for is a sort of list view that allows the user to still collapse and expand any subtasks.

Unfortunately, I decided a long time ago that the tree would always show the correct ancestry even if that meant showing parents that do not match a filter.

Otherwise there would be subtasks attached to grandparent tasks or even subtasks that become top-level tasks if none of their parents match the filter. I can imagine many people finding this confusing even if it would not be to you.

Yes, the idea was to make all the subtasks matching the criteria become top level TASKS.
If that was your decision then ok, but I still hope maybe one day you will add it as an non-default option; I think it would increase TDL 's "flexibility" (and for those that work the way I do "usability" too). Thank you for your time Dan!
