Hi Dan, I am having some problems with the Week Planner view:

Steps (All 'Hide..' options in Week Planner options unchecked)
  1. Select time range in Week Planner on a day other than today's date
  2. CTRL + N to create 'Task' -> New task appears in Week Planner
  3. Switch to Task Tree
  4. Check completed checkbox for 'Task'
  5. Switch back to Week Planner -> 'Task' has disappeared
  6. Switch to Task Tree
  7. Un-check 'completed' checkbox for 'Task'
  8. Switch back to Week Planner -> 'Task' remains invisible
OR
  1. Select time range in Week Planner on today's date
  2. CTRL + N to create 'Task' -> 'Task' appears in Week Planner
  3. Switch to Task Tree
  4. Check completed checkbox for 'Task'
  5. Switch back to Week Planner -> 'Task' has been extended to the time of completion
  6. Switch to Task Tree
  7. Un-check 'completed' checkbox for 'Task'
  8. Switch back to Week Planner -> 'Task' has disappeared

Expected behavior: When I check a task's completion checkbox, it should remain visible in with unchanged start and end times in weekly planner.

Actual behavior: See in Steps

Thoughts:

It seems that when I create a task in week planner, the start and end times from the planner view get recorded to to TDL's start and due dates/times, but when marked complete, the week planner's end time visualization is re-linked to the completion date/time. In addition, after complete is unchecked, TDL seems to be unable to link the week planner visualisation back to the due date/time, and the task completely disappears from the planner.

Most of the time, I don't update a todolist in real time after completing each task but only maybe once a day. Therefore I'd prefer the week planner visualization to be based on start and due dates/times consistently. More generally, I would like an option to not record completion time based on the moment that the completed checkbox has been checked. This could also be a fix for the weekly planner issue, but I realize there might be a problem with having completed tasks without a defined completion date/time (?)

Fixed in 7.2.5?

Once a task is marked as completed, the bottom edge of the task 'card' in week planner still switches from 'due date/time' to 'completed date/time' . Often this means that the representation switches from 'in-day card' to 'multi-day bar'.

Is this your intended behavior? If so, would you consider adding an option in attribute calculation settings?

My preferred default behavior would be that the week planner's 'end of task representation' is linked consistently to 'due date/time'.

Example A
A task this morning from 9am to 10am before being marked as completed: end time shown graphically in week planner corresponds to due time (as expected)...
image.png
... the same task after being marked as completed at 11:19: end time shown now corresponds to "completed" time. Note that due time remains the same.
image.png

Example B
Task before completion (during from yesterday 4am to yesterday 5am)...
image.png
...and after completion (Note that due time is unchanged) but task extends to today.
image.png

Example C
A number of tasks before being marked completed (looks like a typical day in a week planner)...
image.png
...and after all task were marked completed at 11:17 (original week planner look is "broken").
image.png
Note that the CAD task disappears (presumably because the completed time is earlier than the start time.)

>> Is this your intended behavior?

Yes, primarily for consistency with the existing behaviour of both the Calendar View and Gantt Chart View.

>> would you consider adding an option in attribute calculation settings?

Such as? (bearing in mind point 3 of Info: HOW TO SUGGEST A NEW FEATURE)
