Since I updated to the most recent release (7.1.4) I am having a lot of problems with the system not saving preferences. This is getting very frustrating. I am posting this as a question vice a bug, since I am not sure if you have a known work around for this - I looked in Wiki, but could not find it.
I am working in Win 10, using the latest 7.1.4.8 release. I save my settings to ini. I am a die hard TDL user for many years, but the company I am at now does not allow local admin permissions to be granted on your regular network account on our workstations/laptops. I do dev, so I have a Local Admin account that I have to switch to in order to permit admin actions (like doing installs). The challenge appears to be that when I switch to using the local admin account, the ini file is being saved under it's profile instead of under mine (after some "spelunking" I was able to find the ini file in the local admin account rather than in my personal account - probably since I had to use a permitted account to perform the install for the upgrade. The default ini under my profile has not been updated since I upgraded earlier this week.
If at all possible, it would be VERY VERY helpful if when you make changes to the ini file it were saved to apply to all users (or at least have an option so it can do this), vice to the permitted user that had to be logged in to perform the privileged change.
I am having a lot of problems that when I change column visibility or column ordering for a task list it is not being saved. I make the changes, and then they are gone, and it does not open the past files, or control visibility on the columns to match what I have set. This is becoming a Major problem, especially since all the setup for my task lists prior to this upgrade were reset...
While there are a few settings that are clearly marked as requiring Admin to change in the config, it is very annoying that every time I enter config setup, I am warned that these can not be set (even though I did not change them) - the warning dialog makes me wonder if all my other changes took. So far when I spot check they appear to, but not 100% positive.
PS> Please note, in upgrade it did not import my old ini settings - it started totally fresh again. The last 5-6 version upgrades have not done this :-(.
