Expected behavior: when I click minimize, the application minimizes to Task Bar.

Hi Adrian

Can you try out the latest beta of 7.1 and let me know if this still an issue?

Can you also check to see if you haven't inadvertently enabled the following:

"Tools > Preferences > General > Minimise ToDoList to the 'System Tray' when the Minimise button is selected"?

Tried it on the latest beta, the issue is still there.

If Minimise ToDoList to the 'System Tray' is:
a) unchecked => the problem occurs
b) checked - Minimise buton is selected => problem does NOT occur
c) checked - Close buton is selected => problem does occur

d) checked - Close or Minimise buton is selected => problem does NOT occur

Sometimes, even if I have the configuration d), the application closes and overwrites the .ini file to default settings (configuration a) ). Then, when I restart the application, the configration wizard shows up.

Is there a way to enable some sort of verbose logging option?

Thank you,
Adrian

under b) and d) you describe the same situation - please take a look at it.

Thx Adrian.

1. Did you unzip 7.1.B2 to an entirely clean folder?
2. Do you use any 3rd-party applications (such as Ultramon) that hook the minimise button?

Dan

Hi Dan,

Yes, I use Ultramon. The folder is entirely clean.

Thanks,
Adrian

Try disabling Ultramon and see if you can reproduce the error.

FWIW I do have an old fix in place for this but it may have been bypassed by a later version of Ultramon.

What version of Ultramon are you using?

With Ultramon disabled the error no longer reproduces. I use Ultramon 3.3.0

I've changed some settings in Ultramon Compatiblity menu and now it's all good :)

Thank you!

Thx Adrian.

However I'd still like to explore this further to prevent others having such problems in the future.

Could you tell me what settings you changed to make it work so that I can try to reproduce it at my end?

Ultramon Options -> Compatiblity -> Configure settings -> select todolist -> then checked these 2 checkboxes: "use alternative method to add window buttons" and "disable menu commands"

Hope it helps.
