Question: Ways to link or reference tasks in todolist discussion

How many ways can I use ?

I think I know :

1. Create a dependant task

2. Create a reference task

3. Can I go from a task from a task list to a task in other list ?

4. Can I navigate from a task in a list to another in the same list clicking twice over the task ?

I have tried a good way for me to go from one task to another with a bat link

I can use the bat link to go from a task in a list to another task in the same list. Or from a task in a list to a task in other list.

the general syntax i used is :

echo off
path to the program in your pc ......\ToDoList\ToDoList.exe "path to the task list \TaskLists\tasklistname.tdl" -tid ID

By example

echo off
Y:\PORTABLES\Oficina\ToDoList\ToDoList.exe "Y:\GABINETE\PROYECTOS\MODELOS\CONTROL\TaskLists\expediente.tdl" -tid 1179

applying I go to the task with ID 1179 in the task list expediente.tdl

I put the link to the bat file in the File Link field .

Goes well even inside the same tasklist.

Questions to be refined :

a) that the black console window of msdos don't open...

b) that when the bat is executed to go to another tasklist this tasklist is presented in focus.

1. 'Edit > Copy As > Task Link (full)'

2. Paste to 'Comments' or 'File Link' fields in other tasklist

Not sure I understand you. But if you have created a 'File Link' to the other task and the 'File Link' column is visible then a single click on that column will take you to the linked task.

Note: This will also work for links to other tasklists.
