Hi,

I have a yearly task/project called "garden work" (see "img 0002.jpg"). Within this project there is a weekly sub-task called "cut the lawn" due every Monday (= "Montag" in German) ending after 10 recurrences (see "img 0002.jpg").

After the first recurrence of "cut the lawn" there are suddenly only 8 recurrences remaining (see "img 0004.jpg" and "img 0005.jpg").

After the next recurrence of "cut the lawn" again there are 2 recurrences subtracted from the recurrence-counter, so there are only 6 recurrences remaining (see "img 0006.jpg" and "img 0007.jpg") ... and so on ...

When I have cut the lawn five times, the recurrence-counter is standing at zero (see "img 0008.jpg" and "img 0009.jpg").

Next time finishing the lawn the last sub-task is crossed out (see "img 0010.jpg") and the recurrence-counter remains at zero.

Is this a known bug?

After that I complete the project and a new project in the next year is created with new weekly sub-tasks. Unfortunately the "Due Date" now has changed to "Tuesday" (= "Dienstag" in German), although in the window "recurrence options" still Monday (= "Montag") ist marked.

Is this another bug?

How can I ensure that the sub-tasks are still due on every Monday?

Please help!
Thanks

Confirmed for current release 7.0.13, but seem to be fixed in 7.1DR7

In my opinion there is still a little bug (even in release 7.1DR7):

If you have a task defined with "End after n recurrences", you get n+1 recurrences. For example: A task defined with 3 recurrences can be completed 4 times, a task defined with 7 recurrences can be completed 8 times and so on ..... it is always one recurrence too much!

Kind regards,
Peter

Thanks Peter

for the hint. It seem to be a bug (error) in the German translation. The word „recurrence“ is translated in the title of the dialogue with “Wiederholung” (which is correct), but in other places it is translated with “Vorkommen”. So in reality you don’t define a “Vorkommen”, you define a “Wiederholung”. I will take a look at the translation.

@Dan:

When to you plan the next release of 7.1?

Peter

Perhaps tonight.

BTW I changed 'End after x recurrences' to 'End after x occurrences' and updated YourLanguage.csv in GitHub.

Hi Peter

>> How can I ensure that the sub-tasks are still due on every Monday?

Currently all the subtasks of a recurring task get their dates offset by the same amount as their parent task even if they themselves are recurring. Hence the date switching to a Tuesday.

Nevertheless, I agree with you that it's reasonable to expect the new dates of recurring subtasks to match their recurring pattern.

Unfortunately, there are some significant challenges in fixing this which I need to very carefully consider. So you will need to fix these by hand until I have a solution.

My apologies for the inconvenience.

Dan
