Evening guys,
I am the owner of donebeforebrekky and am happy to see the todolist community sharing ideas on Dan's great app.
On the donebeforebrekky site, I investigate various tools and techniques for task management. For sure GTD is one of those tools and I have considered it's application along with other methodologies in the way I work. In the end, it could be described as a mixture of ideas and it is one of the reasons I like todolist - the flexibility allows for such experimentation.
Simplenuity, I think you commented on the site also about these points on the "Simply Getting Things Done", article. In this article I wrote "Getting Things Done is a very popular
method of task management that has revolutionised the working lives of
many. And now, I will unceremoniously
strip it down to the basics, do a Macgyver on the leftovers....". Perhaps a bit brash but you can see the intention was certainly a divergence from standard GTD and the points you noted were conscious deviations. The end result was then further adapted to enable greater emphasis on project type activities.
But you are right, not the place for a GTD discussion, this is the site for todolist.
Anyway, glad to see expert users/developers available here - no doubt I will have some simple questions to pose!
