The subject of this post says it all really.

I have created a custom attribute.  It is visible to set near the boxes for things like Status and Category but it is not visible as a column in the main grid.  Is it possible to make it so?

Kind wishes ~ Patrick

Welcome Patrick.

Custom attributes are visible by default in the Task Tree and List View.

Could it be that they are scrolled horizontally out of sight?

Hi, Dan,

Thanks for the answer.

That was indeed the answer.  Doh!

One slight problem is that this seems to have revealed what may be a bug.  In order to make my new column more easily visible, I decided to hide the Category, which I am not using right now.  No matter what I do in the Attribute Visibility settings, I cannot get the Category column and filter to disappear.  Note that I have nothing set in any Category column and I have no values available in the filter drop-down box.

No doubt I am missing something else simple.  Any ideas what?

Hi Patrick

I suspect you've fallen foul of a common confusion: The visibility settings in the preferences are only for 'new' tasklists.

To change the visibility of columns once you have opened a tasklist you need to use 'View > Task Attribute Visibility'.

Given easily this is to confuse I will think some more about how I could allow changes in the preferences to be reflected in the active tasklist...
