Hello,
I added several file links in the comment sections of several tasks.  They all worked except one. Upon clicking on the link, I received an error dialog that stated:

     ToDoList 7.0.10 Feature Release.

The selected file could not be opened.
Please check that the file exists and that there is an
application registered for opening the selected file type.

The file type was a .pdf and it indeed exists. Adobe Reader executable also exists and is in the bin path. In addition other PDFs in other links did work correctly.

I checked the path length of the offending link and it was approximately 131 characters not counting the prefix "<C:///".  I copied the file to a folder with a bit shorter path length and the link worked as expected.

I am guessing that a buffer is too small or not enough of the path is being copied.  I've seen the issue previously in older versions that were installed on a Windows 7 box.

I can send the bug recorder file if it would help with the debug.

Thank you,
Cliff

Your attached files shows the info:

User left click on "file:///C:\Users\cwfly\Documents\GUITAR STUDIES\\_ LESSONS - Matt Warnock\_SKYPE LESSONS\Lesson #027 -Killer Joe\4-3-2-1 Chords-Cliff.pdf (link)" ....

There is a double backslash in it (and a hash key too). Maybe that’s the problem?

Hi Chris

1. Are you able to reproduce the same problem with another file type (eg.txt) in the same long pathname folder?
2. Can you enable logging by adding '-d' to the shortcut for ToDoList, then reproduce the issue and finally send me the log file?
3. What version of Acrobat are you using?

Dan
