I've had this problem for a while now - I open up ToDoList, and the bit at the bottom where I'd expect to be able to edit priority, category etc, has disappeared.

It comes back if I reinstall the applicaton, or update it, but eventually it disappears again, and I don't know why.

The controls I see, from top to bottom:
 - menu bar
 - icon toolbar
 - tabs (one tab per task list)
 - filter bar
 - tree or list or calendar etc
 - tree/list/calendar/etc tabs
 - status bar

I'd expect to see the editable fields before the status bar, but there's nothing.

Anyone know what's going on? Or how to fix it?

Thanks,
Ben

Have you tried „View -> Maximize Tasklist (Ctrl+M)“ ?

(PS: have you added the requeired tags of the Googler group?

Yes, that is the mode I'm in.

I have now. I did in the first place, but Google Groups lost them somehow, so I added them again.

And have you switched it off? I suppose that’s the clue ..

Oh, I thought it was a toggle between the Tasklist and the Comments.

I just switched it off and now I see comments on the left and the editing section on the right. Can I get the editing section back to the bottom? And is there any reason why it keeps switching to Maximise Tasklist mode? (I don't do it myself.)

No matter, I just found the 'reposition edit fields' option. The only mystery remaining is why they keep disappearing and moving to the right.

At the moment I don’t know the solution by heart, but it is no mystery, it is the result of some preferences and some current menu-commands.

BTW: To you use UTDs (user defined tools, which can invoke settings like this ..)??

No, I don't use any user defined tools. I've been using ToDoList for many years but it's only the recent versions that have done this strange thing. Oh well! Thanks for your help.
