Hi Dan!

I use TDL not just for Time-Management-related things, bit also as a a tracker, journal, and structured notes program.

In this regard I felt a need to be able to associate an image (jpg, bmp, etc.) with a particular "task", in such a way that it would be easily visible from within TDL (for example as another tab in the Comments section). The actual image can be saved as a link to a file, or an actually embedded data (first approach would be preferred I guess).

This is distinct from the already existing "File Link" field, since they serve different purposes. It is also distinct from the Icon, since icons are meant as quick visual cues displayed in-line.

So, perhaps you may consider adding this feature in the future version of TDL.

Thank you.

Hi Fitnerd

The 'Rich Text' Comments field has supported both links to images and embedded images for a long time now. However embedded image do quickly impact the size of the tasklist.

Much better will be version 7.3 which will have a new 'HTML' Comments plugin allowing images to be displayed from the web or local hard drive via a simple link.

ps. The 'Simple Text' Comments field also supports links to images (and files) that can be opened with a simple click.

That's great news about HTML Comments plugin! My main issue with links to images was that it would require another action to actually see the image. The ability to display image inline, as part of the HTML comment is a great enhancement!

Just 2 small questions in that regard:

1. Would it be possible to auto-convert Rich-Text-based comments to the new HTML (without manually copy-pasting each)?
2. I may be mistaken, but I remember reading in the docs that invalid (pointing to no longer existing files) links are removed from Rtf comments automatically. Is this so? If yes, it's a major concern because the files to which links point may only be temporarily unavailable (say are located on a portable drive which is not connected atm.) and thus should still be preserved.

>> 1.

It would be possible but I have no plans to do so...

>> 2.

Peter G wrote a tool to clean up 'Simple Text' broken links but he no longer hosts it and I don't know if I have a copy...
