Hi,

Suggestion for recurring tasks based on http://www.personalkanban.com/pk/designpatterns/the-sequestering-approach-and-personal-kanban/#sthash.CgxAJ5BC.dpbs

When a recurring task is completed, could a custom attribute field be automatically filled with the tasks 'last time completed' date? (I'd normally have completed tasks filtered out).

Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim

Am I right in thinking that you are performing this action manually at present?

Hi Dan,

Oops sorry, I got the impression from your response this facility is basically already there so had a look around. Seems last modified date will do the trick!

Thanks,
Tim

Actually I assumed from your post that you knew about creating 'date' custom attributes and that you might be already keeping track of the last completed date that way...

While it might satisfy your needs, Last Modified might not be the same as Completed.
You could go back a week later and add a comment to a task that someone asked about it. That would change the Last Modified field and give you the impression it was completed a week later.

I really like the idea of triggers which set custom attributes or which run UDTs which we can then set attributes and do other things. Then we can employ logic as to whether custom fields should be updated or not - or trigger emails to people based on activity, etc.
