If you are observing the truncated text ending with '...' then this is intentional, otherwise the text can take up too much of the status bar, and as the focus changes it can jump between short and long strings that I thought might be distracting. Despite this I'm happy to try to improve the compromise.

Can you attach a screenshot of the issue pls?

Thx Peter.

In that case we have a misunderstanding: The far right status bar item shows the 'field name' that has the focus not the 'field value'.

Fixed in 7.0.10?

The concrete issue is fixed, but there is another one (not important – more cosmetics):

- press one tab after the other: tree view, list, calendar, .. -> display is OK

- activate „Maximise Comments“, then deactivate it

- press the tabs again and watch the status bar: the display is not OK at the beginning, it is only refreshed after you made some clicks ..

BTW: Maybe the word „Tasks“ should be replace with „Focus“ or soemthing else?

Hi Peter

TDL was designed to only adjust the focus when you click on a window or if the window with the current focus is about to be hidden or disabled.

With that in mind, here's what's happening:

1. When you start TDL the focus is on the task tree and therefore switching to the other views shifts the focus appropriately because the task tree is being hidden.
2. When you maximise the comments, focus is now moved to the comments because everything else is being hidden.
3. When you unmaximise the comments the focus stays on the comments.
4. Clicking the view tabs then appears to have no effect because the tab itself is not focusable and so the focus still remains on the comments.
5. Focus only returns to the task view if the user explicitly moves it there.

I accept that you may have expected the focus to shift back to the views in step 4 as a consequence of clicking the tabs, but  I'm reluctant to change this because I know that people do not like the focus being moved around, especially away from the comments.

I realise that it's a little confusing and will consider further how this can be improved.

Dan
