"Allocated to" (and maybe other fields too) holds the focus.

- Select a task
- Use the field "Allocated to" and click a name
- Click into the Comment Field and type something:
-> You see that the focus is still in the "Alloc. to" field and you modified the name

Thx Peter.

I'm seeing a slightly different behaviour. Could you record me a screencast pls?

Thx Peter.

I believe that this is standard Windows behaviour: If a droplist/combobox is open and you click 'away' the combobox closes and the focus remains on the combobox.

This is simple to reproduce in Windows Explorer:

1. Select a folder on the left hand side
2. Drop-down the folder location combobox at the top
3. Try clicking on a different folder while the combobox is open
4. Observe that the focus doesn't change

I'm not saying that this is intuitive but I need to be careful when considering deviating from Windows standards.
