I'm not sure what's happening here yet, just putting this up in case it rings any bells.

I start with these tasks:

Use ctrl+Up to move the one selected task up a row.
This is the result.

The tasks are fine, it re-renders after moving around a bit. But the task isn't actually moved.
This happens on one tasklist, not on another. I'll save the .ini and .tdl and try to isolate the cause.

I closed TDL and set the -g option for another issue I just posted.
On restarting, ctrl+Up causes the list to scroll to the top row. The task is still not moved but now at least it's rendering. (Same issues present on move Up or Down.)

This is related to sorting. ( Seems obvious now. )

Attempting to move a task in a sorted list is not a valid operation.Rather than allowing the operation and facing rendering issues, I wondering if this is an opportunity to display a warning and cancel the requested operation?

I think you are collecting a whole bunch of effects together and assuming they are all related.

Can you provide me the tasklist in your image together with the sort criteria and the steps to reproduce pls?
