When I copy the URL from an email in outlook and paste it into the 'File Link' field in ToDoList, I would expect to be able to click on that link and open the email from ToDoList, however instead I get the following message:
"Outlook must be installed before 'outlook:' links will work"
However, outlook is installed, and if I copy the URL from the same email to a different application like Microsoft OneNote I am able to open the email.
Here are the steps:
1. Run a macro in Outlook that copies the URL of the selected email.
1.a. example URL: outlook:0000000086C84FD55DFB7347A4E389C560DAFCB30700C3B68E10F77511CEB4CD00AA00BBB6E600000000000C0000D9539C2261A6BB45B9DAB62C7081B3C101000E0300000000
2. Paste the URL into the File Link field in ToDoList
3. Click on the File Link
4. Get the error message above
I have experienced this issue in ToDoList 7.1.5 and 7.2. When i launch a 7.1.3.4 version of ToDoList I do not experience this issue and am able to open the email.
I think Outlook is installed in an unusual location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16
Also I have added a gmail account to Outlook which might be the issue...
