Question: False positive on Trend Micro antivirus

Hi Dan, 

when I tried to export a task list on HTML format the Trend Micro antivirus stopped the task and moved the ToDoList.exe file to quarantine.

Reason is "unauthorized file encryption"

Luckily I restored the file from a backup, but it could be a big problem for someone not able to do it or not having a backup.

Do you think it would be possible to avoid this event in some way?

Unfortunately there is no way to know exactly what triggered Trend Micro because they never reveal this information.

Your best bet is to configure your antivirus to exclude ToDoList.

I will try to do it but it is a Company antivirus. The harder is to persuade our IT Manager :-)

btw, I realize we have the same age ;-)
