Expected: Subtask dates to update when a parent task has its dates offset through Offset Date(s), when Offset subtask date(s) by the same amount is checked.

Actual: Only the parent task dates are updated.

Reasoning: Offset subtask date(s) by the same amount has no affect.

Steps to reproduce:
  1. Load default Introduction.tdl
  2. Right-click task "A Task can contain..." > Other Task Attributes > Offset Date(s)
  3. Check Due Date
  4. Forwards by 1 Day
  5. Check Offset subtask date(s) by the same amount
  6. Click OK

Even with all the subtasks selected (as below), only the parent task "A Task can contain..." is updated.

Am I correct in thinking that all the subtasks of "A Task can contain..." should recursively be affected? I'm only a new user so please correct me if I'm mistaken!

Welcome gnff.

I'm using 7.1.2.2 and I'm not seeing the same problem:

1. Before

2. After

ps. If the date of the last subtask looks wrong ie. it should be 6/11/2015, that's because it is actually dependent on another task and that controls its start and due dates.
pps. Could you add the appropriate categories at the top of the page pls?

Could you try closing TDL, renaming your preferences file and then re-running the test? Just in case something in the preferences is having an effect also...

Dan

(Apologies Dan, not having a great experience with Google Groups, not your fault of course!)

Wiped the preferences and Introduction.tdl seems to behave normally now, however making a new list is still glitchy

Thx, that's a great help.

Can you attach the sample tasklist shown in the video too pls?

Thx, that revealed the problem.

The subtasks are not being processed because the parent task has no date. I'll fix it so that subtasks get processed regardless of their parent.

Not yet. Once I release the fix I will ask you for formal verification just in case... :)
