CN-ELF could use like or ... Zelazny and his gods or mortals
now immortal who rule as Gods? Zardoz? Or those who have meta-powers who wage a
war against invaders, who worship false gods or what?

Once they ruled the heavens, grand beings with the power of cosmos at their fingers. Now they fight to remain...
Here in our current age the gods of old still live. These beings, while remaining greater than mortal and mythical creature alike, no longer have the power they once did and strain to adapt. Forging existence for themselves in this epoch of non-belief some have adjusted themselves to suit while others fight for a return to what once was, to this end many have employed the aide of their mortal followers and avatars. Meanwhile, among these struggling deities of old, arise the new gods of technology and modern power who vie against them for dominance and would eradicate them altogether.
Loosely based on American Gods, Dies Deorum is and intermediate/advanced setting structured as a collaborative creative writing effort, not just an RPG. We've only recently opened the board and are currently hashing out plots so now is probably the best time for joining. At present the most needed characters are those of the Japanese, Slavic, or Egyptian pantheons, as well as Mortals and God-Slayers, however all suitable character-types are welcome. While not all plotlines revolve exclusively around deities, their existence is the basis of the premise so they are important...but ought not overshadow the others. Really what it comes down to is a matter of balance, and that's what we're looking for. In addition, because of potentially mature themes player age 18+ are preferred.

I forgot about Tier from Farmer, the ancients who
built things but now hunted down by their creation the Bellers? Who suck their
brains out?
But they saved some much and ruled as Gods but now
..
